“I was working at a new long term care facility as their recreational therapist:

This was during the height of covid. Ever since then my experiences have changed that way I wish to approach my own advanced age possibility.

The realization that I could not change what was currently occurring in these facilities but I could educate inform and ultimately, guide those not yet in advanced age.

I developed the Advanced Age Systems course based on current technological trends and cutting edge education. I saw a gap in the current teachings on ageing and to whom they are given to. Many times we are focused onto our current aged generation that we do not think of all the information that you will need in your own advanced age.

Integrated, person-centered quality care based on evidence-informed best practices across all settings and that people feel welcomed and well-cared for when hospitalization or admission to long-term care is necessary.

A strategy that encompass both the importance of immediate efforts to improve the quality of life of people living with dementia and caregivers, as well as longer-term efforts to prevent dementia, advance therapies. 

This is based on a vision where patients are active partners in health research which leads to improved health outcomes and an enhanced health care system. A model can be drawn upon to guide future patient-centric approaches in advanced age.”
